Loved the movie especially in 4K and HDR. The movie gets 5 stars, the sound effects get 5. I found the sound effect to be just a little muffled, compared to some reference movie tracks. Very minor though, almost gave the audio/sound effects 5 stars.

As a physicist, before you start learning modern physicis you are taught the history of how everything started coming together, from Maxwell equations, the photoelectric effect, Einstein relativity, all the way to the development of quantum mechanics and ultimately the A-bomb. This movie really helps put everything together and understand the political implications for everybody involved in its creation, how suddenly the government turned his back on an individual that ended up giving it all for his country. Once you connect all these events with history, it makes for a very immersive film.

The Federal Government contacted Dr. Oppenheimer to build a bomb to end the war. He assembled a group of scientists to aid him. They achieved success at a test at Los Alamos, N.M. He was praised by the government. About 18 years later a Senate investigation accused him of giving the information for the atomic bomb to the Russians and lost his AEC clearance.The DVD includes the investigaton.

The movie is amazing, but when I received it, 2 disks were loose and rattling around inside the case. Miraculously, they were barely scratched but it was still very irritating to receive my favorite movie pre-scratched. Thank God for the digital copy! Other than that fluke, the movie is amazing and the case comes with 3 copies of the film as well as an entire disk dedicated to special features!

Incredible movie---combining the stories of the Manhattan Project and the vicious recriminations of 50s McCarthyism. The film details how the Right destroyed the career of the man who along with Leslie Groves created the weapon that ended the war. Not a proud episode in our treatment of an American patriot. On the historical what to visit tour---The Trinity site, where the bomb was tested on July 16, 1945, was then part of the Alamogordo Range and now part of the White Sands Missile Range located between Socorro and Alamogordo, New Mexico. You can visit the site twice a year--first Saturdays in April and October as part of an escorted caravan. There is small monument at ground zero and you can stand where the bomb was detonated. It is a profoundly moving experience. Remember Oppenheimer when you do!
